Dynamic Analysis of Dispute Management (DADM) Project

The Dynamic Analysis of Dispute Management (DADM) Project was established by Dr. Mark Mullenbach in order to assist students and scholars in researching and analyzing efforts by third-party actors – including states, intergovernmental organizations (IGOs), and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) – to manage intrastate or domestic political disputes during the 20th and 21st centuries.  The project includes two main activities: (1) the collection of information associated with cases of intrastate disputes and third-party management of intrastate disputes in the 20th and 21st centuries (intrastate dispute narratives); and (2) the coding of information related to cases of intrastate disputes and third-party management of intrastate disputes in the 20th and 21st centuries (data sets).

Disclaimer: All of the information used in the DADM Project was compiled by Dr. Mulllenbach and research assistants at the University of Arizona and the University of Central Arkansas between 1995 and the present. Thousands of sources of information, including media reports and organizational documents, have been used to develop the dispute narratives and datasets. As a result, there may be human errors. Please notify Dr. Mark Mullenbach if you discover any errors. While Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs may currently be using information from the DADM Project’s dispute narratives (which are available online to anyone), none of the dispute narratives in this project were written with the assistance of AI programs.

If you have any questions regarding the DADM Project or if you would like to be a participant in the DADM Project, please contact Dr. Mark Mullenbach at markmullenbach.dadm@gmail.com.
